ABOUT

Anissa joined the Hanna Brophy team in 2022 as a seasoned litigator.  She began her workers’ compensation career at another statewide law firm defending self-insured employers, third party administrators and insurance carriers in all aspects of workers’ compensation.  Prior to this, she was a civil litigator specializing in construction defect cases deemed “Complex” by the Court.

Anissa has impeccable legal scholarship.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Whitman College, where she received a full scholarship upon her admission as a Claire Sherwood Scholar.  This honor is offered to the top 1% of applicants who exhibit outstanding achievement in academics and leadership.  Thereafter, she attended McGeorge School of Law’s night school program where she self-financed her legal education by working full-time at a law firm during the day.  While at McGeorge, she received the AmJur Award in Legal Writing.

Anissa has an unwavering devotion to her clients and listens intently to determine what is important to each.  She invites each on a collaborative journey by providing prudent recommendations and encouraging discussions which then culminate into an agreed-upon defense strategy and associated action plan.  She is a team player and loves every minute of it!

Outside the office, she enjoys playing cards with her family which often ends with Anissa and her sister taking on her son and nephew.  During these games she relies on the universal truth that, “Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance.”  Anissa is also a “dog person” who loves to rescue hard-to-place dogs.  Currently, however, she finds hilarity in the fact that she has two rescue cats (with a whole lot of attitude) and no dog.  Will there be a rescue dog in her future?  Stay tuned …
