ABOUT


Mahima Karia is a law clerk in Hanna Brophy’s Orange office. She earned her B.S. in Business and Society with an emphasis in Pre-Law from La Sierra University and her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Mahima brings experience in labor and employment law, and regulatory compliance. Before joining Hanna Brophy, she worked as a law clerk at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, where she conducted legal research, drafted memoranda, assisted in union negotiation preparations, and represented the utility in small claims court.

At McGeorge, Mahima was selected as commencement speaker for her graduating class and was awarded both the Judge Consuelo Maria Callahan Scholarship and the Outstanding Student Service Award in recognition of her community service and perseverance in overcoming adversity. She served as Co-President of the Womxn of Color Collective, was a board member of Unity Caucus, and was active in numerous other student organizations. She has also testified at the California State Capitol in support of AB 1155, legislation that allows law students to receive both academic credit and compensation for externships. Mahima is especially passionate about mentorship and representation in the legal field, with a focus on supporting first-generation law students and students of color.
