Located in the San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys has a long and interesting history. In 1911, the largest subdivision in Los Angeles County would be recorded as Tract 1,000 with plans to develop three “wonder towns”—Van Nuys, Marian (now Reseda), and Owensmouth (now Canoga Park) linked by a meandering super boulevard, Van Nuys Boulevard. Hundreds of thousands of folks from the middle of the United States came to settle in the Valley and enjoy the suburban lifestyle.
